Huáscar earned his LL.M. from Yale University, United States and his LL.B. from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). His experience spans domestic and international arbitration litigation in oil & gas, energy, infrastructure, construction, telecommunications, shareholders’ agreements, contractual disputes, areas among others. Moreover, he represents investors in international investment arbitration disputes. He is fluent in English.
Professional experience
Partner of Bullard Falla Ezcurra+ since 2001. Huascar’s prior work was as an International Associate at Shearman & Sterling in New York, United States. He also served as Technical Secretary of INDECOPI, the Peruvian competition authority; as well as director of Corporación Financiera de Desarrollo S.A. (COFIDE).
Huáscar has a track-record of over 19 years of experience in domestic and international commercial arbitrations, as well as investment arbitrations, working in cases administered by the Lima Chamber of Commerce, the Paris-based International Chamber of Commerce, the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), IACC, and others.
Academic Activity
Huáscar served as chair of the Economic Analysis of Law course of the Master of Banking and Finance program and the Legal Skills course given at PUCP Law School, as well as in Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas, Universidad del Pacífico and Escuela Superior de Economía y Negocios – ESEN, El Salvador.
