Milan holds an LL.M. with a focus on Law & Economics, Law & Psychology, International Commercial Arbitration, Consumer Contracts, and Public Policy from Harvard University. He earned his LL.B. from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). Milan’s experience spans the areas of domestic and international commercial arbitration, with a specialization in shareholders’ disputes, energy, insurance, construction, transportation and professional services, as well as in Investment Arbitration, chiefly in expropriations. Moreover, his experience spans private international law, in rem rights, tort liability and law, economics & psychology. He is fluent in English and has a basic level of French.
Professional experience
Milan has worked in the Litigation area at Bullard Falla Ezcurra+ since 2013 and was made partner in 2022. He has represented clients in over 20 cases administered by numerous institutions, such as the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL), the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) and Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP), and prepared more than 70 legal reports related to energy (oil & gas), construction, insurance, infrastructure (transportation) and professional services. Milan is also part of the CCL’s and AMCHAM’s rosters of arbitrators and has served as an arbitrator in cases administered by the CCL and the PUCP.
Prior to that, Milan served as arbitration secretary at the Arbitration Center of the Lima Chamber of Commerce. From 2017 to 2018, he was an international associate at Three Crowns LLP (Washington, D.C.).
Academic Activity
Milan teaches the Private International Law course and the Economic Analysis of Law course given at PUCP. Other courses taught by Milan at PUCP include Effective Communication, Arbitration Workshops and Legal Skills Workshops organized by the Master of Law and Business program. He also taught the Tort Liability course at Universidad del Pacífico.
Milan also coached the PUCP Law School’s arbitration team.
