Ximena Calderón

Ximena earned her LL.B. from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) and completed graduate studies in Regulation and Competition and Sanctioning Administrative Law at Universidad de Valladolid. Her expertise spans economic regulation, energy regulation, infrastructure and telecommunications, concessions and administrative law. She is fluent in English as well as French.

Professional experience

Associate in our BFE+ Regulation and Competition practice area since 2016. Prior to that, Ximena was an associate at the Rodrigo, Elías y Medrano law firm and her practice focused on public utility regulation.


Academic Activity

Ximena is a former teaching assistant of the Concessions and Private Investment Regime course delivered by Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. She was also an assistant to the chairs of the Economic Administrative Law, Competition Law and Introduction to Legal Science courses at the PUCP. Moreover, she is a former teaching assistant of the Competition Law and Free Market course delivered at Universidad del Pacífico.

She is a former member of the Publications Committee and the Academic Research Committee of the IUS ET VERITAS civil association and of the Publications Committee of the Derecho & Sociedad civil association. In addition, she represented the PUCP in the 18th Inter-American Human Rights Moot Court Competition held in the United States and organized by the American University of Washington, D.C.

  • Winner of the Research Initiation Support Program (PADET), which financed her undergraduate thesis, approved with the highest academic distinction – summa cum laude.
