Work on what makes you happy and with that make you happy
The best way to start the day? An early surf session at Kontiki, a beach in the district of Punta Hermosa, and then dive into work, feeling at peace and clear-minded. The stamina of a litigant demands a work-life balance. Huáscar holds an LL.M. from Yale University, United States, and earned his LL.B. from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). His experience spans domestic and international arbitration in oil and gas, energy, infrastructure, construction, telecommunications, shareholders’ agreements, contractual disputes, and other areas.
His secret recipe for a balanced week? Surf, yoga, long walks, family time and laughter shared with the team. When formality takes over, we see him dressed in a blue suit. His 20-plus years’ experience spans domestic and international commercial arbitration, as well as investment arbitration. He has worked in cases administered by the Lima Chamber of Commerce, the Paris-based International Chamber of Commerce, the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and the Inter-American Commercial Arbitration Commission (IACC). He does not envision himself in a professional role other than that of litigant.
